It's a Secret...

Hey Y'all!
 I wanted to talk about a sensitive issue today. You know that girl in your class who sits in the back quietly and doesn't want you to talk to her? You know that girl who is like THE most popular girl in school? The girl who raises her hand and knows all the answers to any math problem? You know the girl who is a slob and always gets in trouble?
 You all can probably think of at least one girl you know that is like that. I'm sure. It shouldn't be too hard. Someone in class, school, camp...? Or even family member? Unless you live on a deserted island, I'm positive that you know someone that fits one of those things. 100 percent sure.
 But do you really KNOW these people? I mean, really  know them? I mean, every person has big secrets inside of them. Bigger than you can ever imagine. I'm not talking about how she failed History or is in a fight with her mother.I mean real secrets. Deep dark ones.
 Many people seem fine, and you are sure they have the perfect lives. Some people are sure that I have the perfect life. But that is not true at all. Everyone has some point in their life that they say:
But it's not all right. And there are some things that will never be. But we just have to stay strong. It's not easy to fight for yourself, but sometimes you just have to do it.
 My mom sometimes says not to keep it all inside. but it's not possible to let it out. That is why it's called a deep dark secret. In my opinion, sometimes it hurts less to hide it than to reveal it....
 I'm sure all of you have your own deep dark secret- because that is how life is right now. And that is why, right now, I am going to say a short teffilla to Hashem:
 Hashem, You are the One who can change lives, make yissurim, and take them away. Please, make Mashiach come so that Your children will not have to suffer any longer....

Hope that this spoke to your hearts so that you will look at people in a different way.

Some Musings

Hi guys!
 Wow. Just wow. I cannot believe it. My friend just called. Why does that get a "wow"? Because I have not spoken for that friend in like 3 years. And because until now, I would not have called her a friend at all. Rather the opposite.
 Without getting too into details, what happened was, this girl had a crazy father who was saying these awful things about me and another few girls, and it sort of rubbed off on her. So... ya. You get it....
So just today- out of the blue-- she called me. And she has matured a lot. So- yay! I got my friend back.
 I was thinking a bit about it. Why did she call now? What made her do it?
I don't have an answer to that yet... sorry ☺
Well, Gotta go!

Happy (almost) Purim!!

Hey guys!
Happy almost Purim!!!!
I probably won't post 'till after Purim, so y'all have a great time!!!
There is so much to write about... so I'll have to choose.
First of all, in order to really get this blog hopping, I need more people to know about it.
This is my Google+ page, and all my posts are sent to it. Please tell your friends about this blog. Also, feel free to write to me on my email, doubleytrouble@gmail.com. Please comment!!!
 OK. Now down to business...
They probably have spoken to all of you in school about how Purim is like Yom Kipper, and I bet some of you are like, ok, fine, but I just want to have fun on Purim!!!! (Again not all of you, but some).
 Well, I have been through a lot. I admit that my life is far from perfect. But I have felt Hashem through every step of the way. Really. (And I'm just your average girl- not a rebbetzin... :) )
So... I want to try. Really try. Even just a kipptel of Tehillim, or making sure that I daven with more Kavanna than usual.
  Also, I know this sounds NUTS, but ( ahhhh!) I don't have a Purim costume yet!!! Those of you who have any ideas-- Please comment below and give me ideas!!!
Anyway, have a great Purim!!

Smile!

Hey guys!!!
 Today my post will be about SMILING because guess who went to the dentist today... yup, you guessed it... ME!! It was just a cleaning but I have to go back soon for the checkup. :(
Not that it was fun, but it was OK, since I had my handy-dandy MP3 to listen to... ( Thanx Nechama Cohen for the awesome songs!!!)
  The funniest part was when in the middle my earphone fell out. The woman who was cleaning my teeth reached over and put it back in my ear! How cute...!
 So I think that now that my smile is brighter, I will be trying to use it a lot!!! ( It's not always easy at school...).
 SO here are some cute things I found about smiles. ENJOY!!!

 Keep on Smilin' & don't forget to comment!

Waiting

Hi guys,
 You all have most likely heard about the Har Nof Massacre, that happened a few months ago. Most of you have probably almost forgotten about it. But there are those who can't forget. Those who saw it with their own eyes, or heard the screams and gunshots. And those who lost friends. And those who are now orphans.
 What about the ones who were 'just' injured?
At least they didn't die, chas v'shalom. But... their families are waiting. Mourning. Wishing. Davening.
 And while we are happily getting ready for Purim, these families are trying to imagine how they are going to manage Purim without their father.
 Rosh Chodesh Adar is a special day for tefillos. So when you are preparing your Challah, or doing any kind of mitzvah, please keep in mind those who are still waiting.

Midterms Are Finally Over!!!!

Hi guys!
Now that midterms are over, I can finally joke about it....
I must admit, the were not that easy... I studied hard with friends and alone ( and with the help of some frozen yoghurt ☺).
 I found some cute comics about studying and taking tests, so here goes:

Good luck for those of you who are still in midterms!!!

Why???

Have you ever stopped to think why things happen?
I have so many questions....
Why do I have to go through the things I'm going through?
Why did this have to happen?
Why do I feel this way?
Why did she do...?
Why did Hashem create such problems?
Why are there so many tzaros in life?
And on and on.....

Don't think that I don't believe that everything Hashem does is for the best. It's just that... it's still hard not to have these questions.....

It's just some food for thought.
The next post will be much brighter. :)

Trying to be Happy

 Hey!
It's not easy to be happy. I'll admit that. -Sigh-...
Midterms, helping at home, disappointments, and more. I feel that it's much easier to be depressed and sad than happy. But who wants to be upset all the time??
 No one. But... then why is it so hard??
I'll come back to the happiness thing in a second. First I wanted to share something about me: I love Nechama Cohen. She is my favorite singer. She composes all her songs. One of her songs is about being happy. Here are the lyrics:

Inside Out

I heard from a smart guy the outside is just a lie
When joy is not flying in your heart you can’t start to soar
You gotta live life to the beat of your soul,
It feels right when it’s not just a show anymore

I, I wanna try
I, I wanna fly

Happiness only comes from the inside, inside, inside out
It’s only real when it comes from the inside, inside, inside out
When you find that spark in you that shines like a glowing light in the darkest night
Happiness only comes from the inside, inside, inside out

I heard from a smart man it’s not about running around, you’re just running away from the pain you’ve found
You gotta live creating the joy you’ll have,
Music’s playing inside though you hear no sound

I, I’m gonna try
I, I’ll find a way to fly

Happiness only comes from the inside, inside, inside out
It’s only real when it comes from the inside, inside, inside out
When you find that spark in you that shines, like a glowing light in the darkest night
Happiness only comes from the inside, inside, inside out

Though it’s not easy to find that feeling of elation
I’m gonna search from deep inside and follow my intuition
I know though the instant is fast, it won’t last very long
Day by day, ill take it slowly from the inside out
Until I’m strong

Happiness only comes from the inside, inside, inside out
It’s only real when it comes from the inside, inside, inside out
So bright like a shooting star across the black sky, shining rays of light
Happiness only comes from the inside, inside, inside out

Inside, inside out

Here is the music video:

Hope this song affects you as much as it did me.

Clutter Control Part One

Howdy Y'all!!

Today I cleaned my room. Finally. It has been a hurricane forever, and it was embarrassing to have friends over....
That is just one of the reasons not to clean my room... you never know, one day I may be crowned Queen of Procrastination and Excuses.... :)
 So now that my room is clean, I have to work on Clutter Control.
And you, dear reader, will come with me on this journey.
Firstly, a quiz to help you figure out if you need to get rid of clutter:
 ( check if this sounds like you)
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • My room looks sort of like an obstacle course from a reality TV show
  • I'm sometimes embarrassed to invite friends to sleepover because of the mess
  • I can't quite remember the color of my bedroom carpet...
  • I often dig through the garbage trying to rescue things that were thrown away
  • I do my homework in the kitchen or dining room, because the mess makes it hard to think.
  • I don't worry about monsters under my bed, because there is no room for them ☺
  • I spend my morning searching for things in my bedroom or backpack
  • I often have to sprint to catch my ride to school
  • My school locker should be plastered with yellow tape and declared a disaster zone
   So how many sentences did you check?
0-2: Whew! You've got it together. Doing great!
3-4: Your stuff is starting to sneak up on you. Take control now.
5 or more: Crisis alert! Climb out from under your piles and take a deep breath. You can get organized. The trick is to start small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Tammy
